Black Pages

  1. The high voltage power supply connections are dirty.
  2. The high voltage power supply is installed improperly. If the high voltage power supply has been reomved and replaced, it may not be seated properly. Remove the engine controller board, check for damage.
  3. The laser drive circuitry is damaged on the engine controller board so that the laser is always on. Replace the engine controller board.

Blank Pages (All Printers)

  1. No toner is available for print.
  2. Defective laser shutter.
  3. Toner cartridge guide damaged, improperly positioned, or missing.
  4. No transfer roller voltage, check engine controller.
  5. No developing bias, check engine controller.
  6. Check ground path.
  7. Defective laser scanner cable assembly.

Blank Spots

  1. Paper does not meet printer specifications or is stored improperly.
  2. Dirty or deformed transfer roller.
  3. Defective toner cartridge.

 

Creases

  1. Paper does not meet printer specification or is stored improperly.
  2. Printer's operating environment does not meet specifications.
  3. Paper is loaded incorrectly.
  4. Wrong tray.
  5. Wrong output bin for paper type.
  6. Obstruction in paper path.

Curl

  1. Paper does not meet printer specifications or is stored improperly.
  2. Printer's operating environment does not meet specifications.
  3. Wrong output bin.
  4. Wrong fuser setting for paper type.

 

Dirt on Back

  1. Dirt inside printer (tray separation roller, feed roller, fuser, toner cartridge.)

 

 

 

Distorted Image

  1. Paper does not meet printer specifications or is stored improperly.
  2. Printer's operating environment does not meet specifications.
  3. Wrong output bin for paper type.
  4. Poor connection of cables to the laser scanner.
  5. Poor connection of cables to the engine controller board.

Dropouts

  2. The fusing assembly is dirty or defective.

  1. Wrong toner density setting.
  2. Toner cartridge is low.
  3. Transfer roller is defective.
  4. Paper does not meet printer specifications or is stored improperly.
  5. Poor contact to the engine controller board.
  6. Defective laser scanner.

Loose Toner

  1. Dirt in the printer.
  2. Toner cartridge is defective.
  3. Paper might be too smooth.
  4. Wrong fuser setting for paper type.
  5. Defective fuser.

 

Repetitive Defects

  2. Dirty fuser entrance.
  3. Scratches on the fuser.

 

 

Vertical Dots

  1. Dirty static eliminator teeth.
  2. Poor contact between the static eliminator and the engine controller board.
  3. Deformed or deteriorated transfer roller.
  4. Defective engine board.

 

Vertical White Lines

  1. Lack of toner or faulty toner cartridge.
  2. Dirt in the laser path.
  3. Defective fuser.
  4. Dirty mirror in the laser scanner.
